Tickets for Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Legoland, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Drayton Manor and Oakwood can be expensive.
There are a few ways to get cheap theme park tickets, but using your Tesco Clubcard points to buy them is by far the cheapest way.
Here’s how you can get your cheap Alton Towers tickets through Tesco Clubcard, but it works exactly the same for other attractions and theme parks!
1. Open the Tesco Clubcard app
Use your phone’s App Store and find the Tesco Clubcard app. Once downloaded, log in and make sure your Tesco Clubcard is registered to the app, and that your Tesco vouchers are all present in the app.
Once you have the app open on screen, tap the “Rewards” button in the lower right:

2. Find your reward
When you’re in the “Rewards” section, you’ll see a huge list of rewards partners.
Have a scroll through until you find the reward you want to redeem, in this case, Alton Towers.
As you can see, 50p of Tesco Clubcard Vouchers will get you £1.50 to spent on Alton Towers tickets, so even if you only have even a few pounds of Tesco vouchers built up, this really is a bargain.

3. Redeem your Tesco Clubcard points for vouchers to spend at Alton Towers
The next step is to choose how many of your Tesco vouchers you’d like to redeem.
In this example, I have £22.50 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers in total, and I want to redeem all of them on Alton Towers tickets.
To do this, click the + button to increase the value of Tesco vouchers I want to redeem.
Redeeming £22.50 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers will get me £67.50 of Alton Towers credit to spend on tickets! (that’s just 50p shy of 2 Adult tickets.)
When you’re happy with how many vouchers you want to redeem, click on “Get reward”.

4. Choose which Tesco vouchers you want to spend or keep for later
The next screen will show you which of your vouchers you’re about to redeem / spend on this transaction.
I’d recommend making sure you redeem your oldest vouchers if you can. If you’d like to save any Tesco vouchers for the future, use this screen to make sure you keep the newer vouchers which will expire as late as possible so you don’t lose them!

5. Get your code
Once you’ve redeemed your Tesco vouchers, you’ll be sent an email from Tesco giving you a unique code which can be used once on Merlin’s website when you’re ready to buy (or redeem for free) your tickets.
You’ve got a year to redeem the code, so there’s no rush to book your tickets if you’d rather save them for Scarefest for example!

6. Choose the date you’d like to visit
When you’re ready to buy your tickets, go to merlinclubcard.co.uk (or follow the link on your email), and choose the date you’d like to visit.
You’ll then be asked to pay for your chosen tickets – at this point, add your code to the checkout section and the value of the voucher will be taken off of the total.
You will need to pay any remaining balance after the voucher code has been applied.
When you confirm your booking, you will be emailed with your barcode(s) which can be scanned at the turnstiles, either on your phone or printed out if you prefer.
Have a great day!
That’s all there is to it! It couldn’t be easier to get free theme park tickets with Tesco Clubcard points.
