While we were in Split last Summer, I had the chance to climb up the Cathedral of Saint Dominus Bell Tower for a great view of Split!
Climbing this bell tower gives you the best views of the city and bay, and is one of the best things to do in Split.
With some very steep stairs, confined passageways and wide-open windows towards the top of the tower, the climb to the top isn’t for the faint hearted – but when you get there, the views over the city are spectacular.

Entry to the Dominus Tower is a bargain at 55 Kuna, which is around £6. Worth every penny and more. Tickets can be bought from the entrance. The queue when I visited in September was only a couple of minutes, and the whole experience should take around 30 minutes.
I’d recommend this to anyone visiting Split, for a great view over the bay and a birds-eye view of the narrow, winding streets of Split’s old town..
